SMALL ANIMAL PRACTICE

This presently comprises a hospital based at UPM and an outpatient clinic in Petaling Jaya. Both sections provide advice on veterinary care for companion pets to the public. This includes advice to clients regarding preventive medicine (health care), diagnosis and treatment of medical or surgical problems that their pets may have.

Most patients are dogs and cats, but we also care for many other pets including birds, rabbits, pocket pets and reptiles, which are gaining popularity in our present day pet-loving society. Although these companion animals come to the hospital with a wide variety of illnesses, they have a common need for healing.

Besides outpatient cases, the hospital caters for patients that require further diagnostic investigation, round the clock care and treatment. The facilities and services include surgical expertise, clinical laboratory service, radiography and ultrasonography. The Unit also functions as a referral centre for second opinion cases, referred in by veterinary practitioners.
