WSSV Detection Kit

1. An innovation in nested PCR detection technology using the first advanced automated, single-tube approach to detect WSSV which is radically different from the traditional nested PCR methods involving cumbersome two tube or multiple-step procedures. Using this new method, the first and nested PCR steps are automatic ally performed within one reaction run in the same reaction vessel. Benefits of using this technology include the ease of use, faster assay, and a more economical approach in the large-scale screening of clinical samples. The technique is also extremely sensitive, being able to amplify 10 copies of viral genetic targets. Properties developed into the assay also allow easy distinction of heavy, moderate and light infections. It is also more robust towards miniscule PCR contamination as there are less preparatory steps when using this approach.

2. The detection system is also incorporated with a built-in false negative control involving simultaneous amplification of host gene sequences in every reaction to allow direct assessment of the quality of the extracted DNA in each individual clinical sample. The kit also provides a specially cloned genetically engineered viral DNA fragment to assess false positive occurrences, which also doubles up as a PCR sensitivity control. Unique properties engineered into the fragment allows the distinction between contamination from wild (from infected samples) or positive control (cloned DNA). The combined features assure the highest level of accuracy, confidence and quality control in interpreting each assay results.

3. All the necessary reagents to perform 100 single-tube nested PCR assay are provided. Components of the kit includes:
   1. Ready to use primer pre-mixes with built-in internal false negative control for complete single-tube nested PCR run. Only add sample DNA and DNA polymerase.

   2. Thermostable DNA polymerase.

   3. Positive control to assess PCR sensitivity in the laboratory. May also be used as a false positive control (WSSV Mutant DNA fragment).

   4. Complete manual with step-by-step instructions on PCR set-up, preparation, analysis and troubleshooting. Kit user is also provided with a user friendly flip card guide for quick referencing.
