
Procured funds from International Development Research centre Canada and Network of Aquaculture centres in Asia to sponsor 27 students from 11 countries in Asia to undergo the postgraduate training.
Considerable experience in supervising postgraduate students. Was the main supervisor for 10 masters and five doctorate students who have successfully completed their degrees and currently the main supervisor for two masters and two doctorate students. Also co-supervisor for 3 masters 5 PhD students.
Played an active role in establishing the new centre of Innovation and Commercialisation and formed policy guidelines. As director of the University Centre I was involved in evaluation of R&D technologies for patent filing and commercialisation. Also did matchmaking of academic staff with potential clients for up scaling of R&D technologies or business partnering and formation of spin-off companies.
Project sponsored by International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC). Responsible for monitoring research on fish health and organizing workshops, training courses and seminars for members of the recipient institutions of the IDRC funded project.Countries involved in the network included China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Played key role in the formation of the MFS and has been the president for various terms.
