Ng Chee Kiat, B. Sc. (Fisheries), MS (Aquaculture)
(Managing Director, Inter Sea Fishery (M) Sdn Bhd) – born
in 1961, and obtained both his BSc. (1985) and MS (1995) from Universiti
Putra Malaysia. He has 15 years of experience in aquaculture and aquaculture
feed operations, planning and design, sales and marketing and management
of aquaculture projects and aquaculture feed plants. He became a full member of the MFS in 1994, and has since served as the treasurer or a council member several times. |

Dr Annie Christianus (Ph.D. Aquatic Biology) graduated from UPM in 2002 with a Ph.D. (Aquatic Biology) where she is currently a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She specializes in fish reproduction (broodstock selection and management), larval rearing, hatchery management and hormone analysis. At present, she is working on a three years IRPA (Intensified Research Priority Area) project on horseshoe crab in Malaysia. |

Yip Kam Toh (MSc, Fisheries Bioogy) was born on 2nd Feb 1958 and graduated from NTU in 1983 where he majored in Fisheries Biology. He has been the project manager in big scale shrimp projects in the Philippines and Indonesia. Currently he is the Assistant Vice President of Asia Aquaculture Sdn Bhd. |
![]() | Perumal Kuppan, BSc(Environment)UPM.- born in Teluk Intan, Perak in 1958, joined UPM as Laboratory Technician in 1978. He has been mentored by Prof Law Ah Theem, Prof Fatimah Md. Yusoff and Dr. Philllip Arumungam for almost 30 years and is now an expert in various aspects of water quality and aquatic ecology. Perumal has been involved in several consultancy projects under the guidance of his mentors. In 1994 Perumal was attached for 3 months at the aquaculture production centre affiliated to Kinki University in Japan where he studies plankton culture. Shariff Mohamed Din, DVM, MS, PhD (Professor, Fish Pathology) –
born in Seremban and schooled in Tapah, Perak, after which he left for Pakistan
and returned in 1976 as a doctor of veterinary medicine. He then joined
Universiti Putra Malaysia as a tutor and furthered his studies in University
of Stirling, Scotland for his Masters and Doctorate. He was the founder president of MFS and has been the president, vice president or a council member several rounds. He has also been the president and vice president of the Asian Fisheries Society for one term each. After 20 years with the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, he is now attached to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine where he teaches fish/shrimp health. He has more than 100 scientific publications, edited various proceedings on fish health and written one fish health book for fish farmers. His invention “Fast Target White Spot Detection Kit” has won him several gold and silver medals in the international arena. |

![]() | Zuridah Merican (PhD Aquaculture Nutrition) is the Editor/Publisher for the AquaCulture Asia Pacific Magazine since September 2004. Prior to this, she was editor of Asian Aquaculture and International Aquafeed Magazine, UK. She obtained her Ph.D. in shrimp nutrition from the National University of Singapore and M.Sc. aquaculture from Stirling University, Scotland. She was with the Malaysian Fisheries Department from 1977-1995. |

Keong (MSc, Aquaculture, PhD Nutrition, Assoc. Prof) received his Masters degree in Aquaculture from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), and doctorate in Nutrition at the University of California (Davis, USA). He also worked as a post-doctoral scientist at Mississippi State University (USA) in the area of Fish Nutrition research. Dr. Ng is currently an Associate Professor affiliated with Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang where he started the Fish Nutrition Laboratory. He has published extensively in the area of aquaculture nutrition and is on the editorial board of several international aquaculture journals and magazines. His areas of interest include aquatic animal nutrition, feed technology, microbial biotechnology, aquaculture systems, shrimp culture, ornamental fish and marine coastal ecosystems. |
