TEST AND SERVICES

Applications for laboratory services can be made through a submission form that can be found online. Any quotation for services can also be referred to the relevant laboratory. Samples must be submitted directly to the Sample Submission Counter, Veterinary Laboratory Services Unit (VLSU).

  CLINICAL PATHOLOGY LABORATORY

Complete Haematology, Coagulation analysis, Clinical Biochemistry, Urinalysis, Cytology and Faecal Examination.

   HISTOPATHOLOGY LABORATORY

Gross Postmortem, Complete postmortem, Biopsy slide preparation, Biopsy examination.

  PARASITOLOGY LABORATORY

Identification of endo/ecto parasites, Blood examinationFaecal examination, Organ Examination of organs and Enumeration of parasites and PCR.

  BACTERIOLOGY LABORATORY

Isolation & Identification of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, zoonotic pathogens such as Brucellaspecies and Leptospira species, foodborne pathogens such as Salmonella andCampylobacter, fungi, Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, Total and coliform plate count.

  VIROLOGY LABORATORY

Virus isolation in eggs/tissue culture, Virus identification HA & HI tests, Serum neutralization test and Immunofluorescent test.

  AQUATIC LABORATORY

A range of comprehensive testing for bacteria and viruses all fish and shrimp diseases through culture and molecular diagnostics and Water quality analysis.

  POSTMORTEM LABORATORY
