Objective :

At the end of the course, the student would :

acquire good understanding in pathological diagnosis practice with emphasis to pathogenesis and diagnosis
acquire skills in necropsy methods for diagnosis
be able to write complete necropsy reports
acquire knowledge and experience in presentation and discussion of necropsy cases

Synopsis :

The course is devoted to necropsy techniques and examination of animals in different species other than avian submitted for diagnosis. Pathogenesis and diagnosis are emphasized. The student will be required to write complete necropsy reports of those cases. Selected cases will be presented at weekly pathology rounds. Other studies include familiarization with histology, histochemistry and electron microscopy techniques.

Assignment

Discuss the immunological techniques in measuring macrophage activity.
Discuss the application of flow cytometry in field of immunology .
Discuss the dynamic of antibody production following primary and secondary vaccination.
By using disease examples, discuss the mechanisms of viral-induced immunsuppression.
