Postgraduate Studies
The Faculty conducts post-graduate studies in veterinary and animal sciences. Since its establishment in 1973, the Faculty has maintained a strong research tradition and focused its attention on advancing the frontiers of veterinary and animal sciences that could ultimately result in technological innovations and enhanced productivity. The graduate programme of the Faculty, which started in 1979, is administered by the Committee for Graduate Studies, a committee of the University Senate. The committee is responsible for admission, appointment of supervisors and examiners.
The office of the Deputy Dean of Graduate Studies acts as the Secretariat to the Committee. The Faculty offers four graduate degree programmes:
i. Post-graduate degree by coursework and practice n Master of Veterinary Medicine (MVM)
ii.
Post-graduate degree by research and coursework n Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) n Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
